By the time Kavinsky comes over, Adam's completely calm. Except maybe calm isn't the right word for how he is at the moment. Reserved. Devoid, even. He's responsive, yes, but everything's gotten to a point that Adam's not quite able to connect with everything going on. He accepts the cup with a quiet "thank you", because even now he can't shut off the manners. A part of him wants to walk away, right now. Screw Kavinsky. Screw Blue. Screw Ronan. Screw Gansey. He can't be around any of them, anymore. Things always break when he's too close. None of them need him, not really. He could be gone tomorrow. He has the money now, enough to make himself disappear. Change his name. Re-establish himself somewhere they can't find him. Start over.
He doesn't reply to Kavinsky's words, his head now wrapped around how to do it. Instead, he gets up and moves jerkily to the sink, filling up the glass again before gulping it down just as quickly as he'd done the first.
