Adm just sighs, long and self-suffering. Ten minutes ago he would have been in a good enough mood that the words wouldn't do anything to him. In fact, he'd probably laugh and crack a joke as well, but how things are now, Adam's on edge and distracted by too many things. In the street ahead he catches a glimpse of something flying by. Something large enough that its flight should be impossible, but when he blinks again, it's gone.
Thankfully, the drive from Aglionby to Monmouth isn't that long, and sooner rather than later, he's pulling through the industrial district of Monmouth Street and into the warehouse-cum-living space of Monmouth Manufacturing. He'd finally found some time to get the first floor door repaired, so that's flung open and left open so Ronan can come in, immediately greeted by the sights and sounds of the various animals living there.
He pets Gunnar affectionately as he moves through the lower level until the dog finally grows bored and notices Ronan to go after him. He strips as he moves along, unmindful of anything beyond the need to get dry. A few minutes later and he's using an old towel to dry himself while wearing newly washed coveralls over something warmer than what he'd gone to school in.
That sensation is growing again, images moving that aren't there. The lights in his room flicker as patterned ivy casts shadows against his lamp. There was no response earlier, but now it's growing more urgent, seeming as if the forest is trying to talk this time. Hesitantly, he pulls his cards out while trying to mask the fear growing inside him. This time, Cabeswater speaks through his cards, showing him where the ley line is broken. Too far to do anything today. Not in this weather. It quiets some as he acknowledges its need but doesn't go away entirely, playing with his mind and upping his tension rather than alleviating it, especially when his questions go unanswered.
He plops down on the couch on the second floor and rests there, half-slouched on the couch, watching television for once rather than studying. With the drive and with Cabeswater making him hyperaware at the moment, he misses nothing. Everything is a distraction and trying to parse whatever bullshit was thrown at him for homework can wait.
Ugh sorry my mind vomited words.
